For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Why was the "My Life with Tics" blog discontinued?
For a few years (aprrox. 2011-14), I ran a blog by the title of "My Life with Tics." My Life With Tics ('a blog about life with Tourettes Syndrome') was not discontinued because of disinterest. In fact: the blog was going very well, and had many readers. However - praise The Lord - my Tourettes has decreased significantly within the past 2 years, to the point where I am off medication and have a few occasional, very mild tics. This is nothing but the sheer grace of God. I've realized that by "passing my anxieties to Him, through prayer and petition supplicated with worship and thankfulness, He gives me peace which only He - Jesus Christ - can provide" (Phillipians 4:6-7).

So, what's happened in my life since the blog began?
I've been living an active lifestyle, eating healthily and soaking up as much of The Holy Spirit as possible. It is absolutely true, that real rest is only found in Him. So I am exponentially thankful and full of praise for God that I have nothing more to report in the world of Tourettes.
Since 2013 I have lost approximately 45 pounds and traded it for a love of the outdoors and spontaneous adventure. I used to be very uncomfortable trying new things, but now I seek out new experiences; whether it's a new food (such as Panamanian ceviche) or a messy activity (such as wriggling down a 25 ft. long 2x3' cave on the bank of creek in balmy 40ish-degree mud, snatching a page out of The Bible in the main cavern, then wriggling back out. Run-on sentence? Oh well.)
Adventure comes in many wonderful forms! But the only reason I have any sense of adventure at all is because of my King. Knowing that when I die, I will be in the arms of my God and Father, Jesus Christ, puts away almost all fear of physical harm. Thankfully The Lord does give us humans enough fear to keep us from doing stupid things. But aside from jumping out a plane without a parachute (and other brainless stuff like that), Christ gives those who believe in Him, "a Spirit of power, of love, and a calm and well-balanced mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)
